How to Remove Your Gas Struts

This is a question we get asked all the time.

Here is how to remove your gas struts when they have ball cups.

1. What you'll need

• Flat Head Screwdriver - a small one

2. What's what

What all the bits could / should look like

• Ball Cup End
• Ball
• Nut or it could have a bracket which means the ball fitting would be part of a bracket

3. How to

Lifting of the Metal Clip

To remove the BALL CUP END, take your screw driver and slip the flat end in under the metal clip

This will release the gas strut from the ball stud / bracket.

#Safety Tip

Support the lid either with a piece of wood or get someone to help you before removing gas struts.

Even though your Gas Struts may seem like they aren't working, they are still doing a little bit.
